Extension to offer Workshop on Positive Aging

Event Details

As each person grows older and enters the second half of life, questions arise regarding how to maintain a healthy and vital existence. How can you stay active and involved as you age? What are some common sense practices that can aid in leading a longer, healthier life?

The University of Illinois Extension will host Healthy Living for the Second Half of Life, a class focused on positive aging, on Monday, July 25th at 10 a.m. at the University of Illinois Extension Whiteside County office, 12923 Lawrence Road in Sterling.

As life expectancy has increased and we are able to live longer and healthier lives, the interest in the topic of positive aging also continues to increase. What exactly is positive aging? This program will help build an awareness for healthy living practices, identify steps to take toward health personal efforts, and plan how to stay active and involved.

The workshop is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required.  To pre-register or for more information, visit the University of Illinois Extension event calendar online at go.illinois.edu/2016summerseries or call 815-632-3611.  To stay up-to-date with all University of Illinois Extension program offerings, like Extension on Facebook at U of I Extension Carroll-Lee-Whiteside Unit.
