Ready, Set, Grow Gardening Workshop To Offer 15 Different Workshops-Registration Due By March 10

Fifteen different workshops ranging from Wildlife in the Garden to Fruit Tree Pruning will excite participants at this year’s “Ready… Set…Grow” Join the Master Gardeners of Carroll, Lee, Ogle and Whiteside counties in cooperation with Sauk Valley Community College on March 18 for this one-day event. During three different sessions, participants can choose to attend workshops about Cooking with Culinary Herbs, Terrific Tomatoes and Perfect Peppers, Be Good to your Garden Tools & They will be Good to You, 5-Star 4 Season Woody Plants, Shade and Fruit Tree Diseases, Ever + Green = Conifer and many more!

Three demonstrations will take place throughout the day including Houseplants Clinic and Diagnostics, Orchid Care and Maintenance and The Magic of Herbs.   Vendors with unique gardening items for purchase will also be available during this time and our local Master Gardeners will have a help desk and free book nook to answer any gardening questions.

A keynote presentation on How to Reduce Maintenance Through Good Design, will be presented by Joel Barczak, co-owner of Blumen Gardens.  The program fee is $40.00 and includes morning refreshments, lunch and select handouts.
