Third WWW@WCC Program Features Christmas Music

Event Details

The Volunteer Educators at the Windmill Cultural Center in Fulton, Illinois, invite the public to attend the third program of the season. The December 21 Wild Winter Wednesdays at the Windmill Cultural Center (WWW@WCC) will focus on the music of the season. The public is invited to gather at 9:00 a.m. for coffee, tea, and refreshments. The program begins at 9:15. The building is accessible to people with disabilities and the program is funded through a grant from the Fulton Association for Community Enrichment (FACE).

Julie Zuidema will present “Signing: The Music of Christmas.” When Julie was a missionary with Youth with a Mission, she saw a woman use the art of sign language to express a song. She was awestruck at how beautiful it was and how much more meaningful the song was when expressed through signing. Julie went on to learn sign language and has used it as an expression of music.

Following Julie’s program, The Sunbeams from Second Reformed Church in Fulton, Illinois, will provide guests with Christmas music favorites. Led by Linda Russell, the group gives a short concert and also guides participants in a sing-along, complete with music, graphics, and lyrics.

A new feature each week will be the addition of bread for sale by Krumpets Bakery. Guests will be able to purchase bread made with de Immigrant flour at the Windmill Cultural Center. WWW@WCC programs are held on Wednesday mornings at 9:00 a.m. from December to the end of March. Programs are free and open to the public. For more information, visit the Windmill Cultural Center Facebook page or call 815-589-3925.
