The Clinton 8 movie theaters were evacuated last night due to a bomb threat. Clinton police were dispatched to the theaters at 9:02 on the possible bomb scare.

An Iowa American Water Company official tells K-R-O-S NEWS that issues with water service at the Miller Ridge Apartments in recent days was an internal problem in the complex and not an Iowa American issue or broken main.
Yesterday made six out of the past 7 a white Christmas. Clinton area official weather observer Jim Blaess says the definition that’s used for a white Christmas is having at least one inch of snow on the ground on Christmas day.
The Saturday night into Sunday snowfall total was 5.8 of snow. Official Clinton area weather observer Jim Blaess says that 24-hour snowfall is the most in a 24 hour period since February 1st and 2nd, 2011 when there was 9.7 inches.

The Clinton City Council has requested the resignation of City Attorney Jeff Farwell. That came as part of the performance evaluation for Farwell. At the meeting last night, Farwell said the process could be conducted in open session. Council member Jennifer Graf made the motion that with the turnover of the council the new council should have the legal counsel of their choice and the city attorney should submit his resignation.
A couple of local businesses will be making a sales pitch tonight in hopes of earning a grant to help grow the Clinton downtown.
The Quad Cities Dream Big Grow Here Pitch-Off, hosted by Ignite Quad Cities, will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Modern Woodmen Park.
Fourteen local businesses submitted their dreams online in a competition for $5,000. Over 4,000 votes were cast by members of the public, and now seven entrepreneurs will pitch to a panel of local business people. The winner of the pitch-off will receive a $5,000 grant, and will be eligible to advance to the statewide competition to vie for an additional $10,000 grant.
