Tentative schedule of meetings this week

The Clinton County Board, Clinton School Board and Clinton City Council among the governmental meetings this week-links to agendas included

Monday will be the meeting day for the Clinton County Board Of Supervisors. The business portion of the meeting starts at 9:15 the County Administration Building.

The Clinton School Board meets on Monday at 5:30 at the Administrative Center.
Among the personnel actions on the agenda is hiring Kristi Cooley as the new principal at the Bluff Elementary School. Mark Bloom who had been the principal left the position for a job with the Area Education Agency. Superintendent Deb Olson said she is a graduate of Clinton High School, Mt. St. Claire, Western Illinois University, and St. Ambrose University. She has worked in the Clinton Community School District as a teacher and an instructional coach.
The Board will revisit the issue of a local agent for property and workman’s comp insurance. The A-C Root Agency has been the local agent for several years. The district sought new proposals for this renewal. At an earlier meeting the board tied on a vote to switch to the Core-Vens Agency. It was pointed out at the time that the cost would remain the same due to way companies insure the district.
Contracts with various employee groups are also on the agenda. The contract with the Para-Educators is for a 2-point-36 percent increase – the contract with the food service workers is for a package 2-point-37 percent – the deal with the secretaries is a 2-point-37 package increase and the custodians is for a 2-point-33 percent and bus drivers is for a 2-point-3 percent package increase.
The board also plans a closed session for a performance evaluation of the Superintendent
The board may then may consider a pay raise for the position.

On Monday evening the Riverbend School Board’s Negotiation Committee will be meeting. They are expected to meeting a closed session.
Next week- on June 16th the Fulton School Board’s Negotiation Committee will be meeting again.

The Clinton City Council meets on Tuesday for a regular session. Included in the business items is a resolution that terms a performance evaluation of City Administrator Jessica Kinser’s work and it was ‘deemed successful.’ With that review the contract calls for a pay raise and the resolution includes a
two-thousand*500-dollar increase.
Pay raises for non-bargaining unit employees would be increased by about 2-and-a-half percent if the council approves the proposal.
An agreement with the school system to reduce the number of officers working in the school from 3 to 2 School Resource Officers is on the agenda.
During the Committee Of The Whole Session the council will consider working with a developer on a proposed 200 unit apartment complex.
The council will have another review of the solid waste fund and how to recover a debt in the fund.

The Central DeWitt School Board meets on Wednesday evening. The Board will have a closed session at 5 o’clock for the Superintendent’s evaluation and the business meeting is scheduled to start at 6 P-M.
The Board will hear reports on a student and teacher survey plus an updated on student achievement data.
The Board of the DeWitt based school is also scheduled to receive a petition about a school district name change.
