The City Council approved using a search firm to seek applicants and screen those applicants for consideration.

At the meeting Tuesday night the council has no other action scheduled on the issue. The action to accept the list of finalists for the Police Chief’s post is on the consent agenda with other actions approved in one motion.

A new police chief is being sought as a replacement for Brian Guy who recently retired. He served on the Clinton Police Department for nearly 36 years – with the past 14 years serving as the chief.
