American Queen will not make July 22 Stop in Clinton-other Clinton stops not affected

Unfortunately, due to uncontrollable river conditions, the American Queen cannot make it past the St. Louis Bridge and will not make its Upper Mississippi River Cruise this week. For the Clinton, Iowa stop, this means that the boat will NOT be able to stop for the July tour date. ‘Read more’ for detail from the CVB

The Convention & Visitors Bureau and the local volunteer committee have been notifying volunteers, area attractions, and City departments with as much notice as possible.
Carrie Donaire, Director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau stated, “It has been decided by Mother Nature and Old Man River, so we thank our volunteers and area establishments for being flexible and understanding. Of course we are disappointed that they can’t make a stop at this time, but Clinton is a scheduled tour stop for four more dates this summer. Our volunteers and City departments have worked hard to prepare, so we will be ready to receive our guests when the American Queen is here later this summer.”
Sara Misiewicz, American Queen Committee member added, “We know that the American Queen crew and staff are working hard to manage the situation and assure a great experience for their guests. Clinton is ready to offer our hospitality any time.”
The rest of the Clinton tour dates are currently unaffected. The next tour stop is scheduled for August 5, 2015 from 12pm – 5pm.
