Tentative Schedule Of Governmental Meetings This Week

The Clinton County Board and Clinton School Board meet this week-‘read more’ for the tentative schedule of governmental meetings this weekThe Clinton County Board has their regular Monday morning meeting. The session starts at 9:15 at the County Administration Building.
At 10:05 on the agenda the Supervisors are scheduled to discuss what to do next with the area where a new retaining wall and parking lot expansion were planned. During recent excavation at the site-it was discovered there were still some remains at the site which was a former cemetery in the 1800’s. Officials had not been able to find definite proof of the cemetery location and also believed that if it was a cemetery all the remains had been removed earlier.
The work on the site was halted and Supervisors say new alternative plans will be discussed.

The Clinton School Board meets Monday evening at 5:30 in a regular meeting at the School District Administrative Building.
Members elected at the recent election will formally take office. The board will also consider the election of a board president.

The board will also hold planned closed session to talk about the potential sale of the Lyons Middle School property. At a previous meeting, a developer proposed buying the site to develop senior independent and assisted living units.

Kevin Gyrion will be sworn in as the Chief of Police for the City of Clinton on Tuesday morning (September 15th) at 10 o’clock in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
Gyrion was selected as the next Chief of Police following a recruitment process that began in May. He comes to the City of Clinton from West Liberty, Iowa, where he has served as Chief of Police for the last year. His previous experiences include 27 years of experience with the Chicago Police Department.

The Camanche City Council meets on Tuesday evening.
The council will consider approval of an engineering contract to develop plans for a new community center and storage facility. A contract with the Camanche Fire and Police Bargaining Unit will also be considered.
The meeting will be at 6 P-M on September 15th.
