School Bus involved in Motor Vehicle Collision

At 7:05 this morning, Officers from the Clinton Police Department and Clinton Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 13th Avenue North and 3rd Street. The collision involved a Clinton Community School District Bus and a pick-up truck.

The School bus was travelling northbound on 3rd street when a westbound pick-up truck entered the intersection from 13th Avenue North and struck the passengers side of the bus. The impact of the collision resulted in the school bus rolling on to its side. In addition to the bus driver, there were 4 students on the bus.

The 4 students were transported to Mercy Medical Center by the Clinton Fire Department where they were being treated for non-life threating injuries. The driver of the school bus and driver of the truck both refused medical attention. The driver of the pick-up truck was cited for Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device.
