October warmer than normal-with more rain that usual

October ended up warmer than normal for the overall temperature. Clinton area weather observer Jim Blaess says the overall temperature was just over 55 degrees (55.2) and that was about two degrees above the normal (52.9).
The highest reading for the month was 81 on October 11th and the lowest was 28 on the 17th and the 18th.

There was no precipitation through the first 20 days of October. Blaess says the final portion of the month there was  2.83 inches of precipitation and that was about .4 of an inch above average (2.44) for the month.
He says that makes six of the last seven months with above average precipitation. Blaess says through the first ten months of the year there has been 37.84 inches of precipitation and that’s about 7.5 inches above the normal (30.31) for the year-to-date.

For November, Blaess says there is an average of just over 2 inches of precipitation (2.12). He says that includes an average of 1.6 inches of snow.
The normal high for November 1st is 57 and the average low is 38 and those fall to 40 and 24 by the end of the month.

With warmer than normal weather predicted, Blaess says the record high for November 2nd is 79 and the record high for the 3rd is 75.
