How much rain this week?

The rain from early Tuesday morning until late last night total just over two inches according to official Clinton Weather Observer Jim Blaess.
He says the 2.07 of an inch of rain in the 24 hour period was the most in a 24 hour period since 1961 when there was 2.65 of an inch. The total this week is the 6th most in a November in the records to 1879.

He says there was small amount of rain overnight into this morning.

The total precipitation for the month is now 3.72 of an inch according to weather observer. With more than a week before the end of the month this year’s total is the most in a November since 1995 when there was 3.78 of an inch and is already the 17th most in a November since 1879.  The normal precipitation in November is 2.12 inches.

The rain so far this month brings the year to date total to 4.56 of an inch and is more than 9 inches above normal for the entire eleven month period.  That eleven moth average is  32.43 inches.

But, Blaess says remember last year-when starting on November 12 there were nine days in row the temperature did not rise above 30 and there was an inch and a half of snow on November 15th last year.
