Tentative schedule of governmental meetings this week

Clinton County Board and  Clinton City Council on the schedule for meetings this week.

The Clinton County Board has their regular Monday morning meeting. Among the items for consideration is a resolution to hire a consulting firm to help prepare a detailed budget estimate for the proposed replacement jail.
The Supervisors will meet start their business meeting at 9:15 at the Administrative Building

The Clinton City Council will be meeting on Tuesday in the first Tuesday of the month Committee Of The Whole Session.
The council will hear about a proposal from the Downtown Business Alliance to establish a program to improve and upgrade business signs in the downtown area. The Alliance states poor signage in the downtown area was pointed out in a recent consultant’s visit.
A review of the proposed Capital Improvement Plan is another item on the agenda.
The meeting will start at 7 o’clock Tuesday evening at city hall.

The Camanche City Council meets on Tuesday evening at 6 o’clock.

 

The Clinton Plan Commission meets Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock at City Hall.
Among the items for consideration is rezoning the area of the now vacant Washington-Jefferson school property. A developer is planning on developing the buildings into apartments for those ages 55 and over. The area is zoned residential and the change would all multi-family housing.
The Commission will also consider a property use outline that would allow the construction of new Aldi’s grocery store on the west edge of the city along Highway 30.
