No record highs-but rain over the weekend

No record high temperatures over the weekend but nice weather – is the way Clinton area weather Jim Blaess summed up the weekend weather.
Blaess says on Sunday the high was 61 degrees. The record high for December 13th is 62 set in 1975.
Blaess says the high for today (Monday) was set early this morning at 60 degrees and that compares to the record for December 14th o 62 also set in 1975.  The normal highs for this time of December is 34 and the average low is 19.

Blaess says that over the first 13 days of the month the overall temperature has averaged at 40 degrees. He says that’s about 13 degrees above the December average.

The Clinton area weather observer says the rain on Sunday and into early Monday morning total about one-and-a-half inches. Blaess says a typical conversion would indicate that total would have been about 15 inches of snow.

Blaess says that brings the year-to-date total of just over 46 inches of precipitation which is about 12 inches above the yearly average.
