Camanche Police Make Arrest In Burglary Case

A Camanche man was arrested on Monday evening and charged in connection with a residential burglary reported earlier in the day in Camanche, IA. ‘Read more’ for the official statement from the Camanche Police Department, including a ‘mug shot.’

Toby Wright, 36, has been charged with 2nd Degree Burglary, 3rd Degree Theft, and Possession of a firearm by a felon following the incident.

At 0900 hrs on December 21st, Camanche Police were called to a residential burglary where a .45 cal handgun, a .22 cal rifle, and an air soft gun were taken.

Video surveillance at the residence identified the suspect, Toby Wright along with the vehicle Wright was using at the time. A search warrant was subsequently obtained for Wright and this vehicle.

On December 21st at approximately 1815 hrs officers located the vehicle in the 800 block of 14th Avenue in Camanche and executed the search warrant. The two firearms and air soft gun were recovered and Wright was later taken into custody at the same location.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
