The Clinton City Council holds a budget session this afternoon. This is the fifth budget meeting for the council. Today’s session includes the budgets for the airport, transit, marina and road use tax fund.
The meeting is at 3 o’clock at city hall.

The Clinton School Board will consider seeking public approval of a Physical Plant and Equipment Levy which would increase funding for maintenance work.
The proposal would be for a 75-cent per thousand dollar valuation tax which would take effect after a bond issue after a bond issue is paid off which would eliminate that tax. The resolution calls for a special election on September 13th.
The meeting is at 5:30 at the School’s Administrative Center.

Tuesday will be the meeting day for the Clinton City Council. The business session and discussion session will start at 7 o’clock in the evening at city hall.

During the Committee Of The Whole Session the council will consider changes to the early retirement incentive, streamlining the process to dispose of city properties and hear an update from the Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Also on the agenda is the School Resource Officer Program. As reported earlier on K-R-O-S the Mayor and City Administrator met with school officials to try to find a compromise in the program in which the school district pay half the cost of having two officers working in the schools. Some council members want to end the program but the council has been split on that vote.
As K-R-O-S NEWS reported-Clinton Mayor Mark Vulich said some ideas were developed in the meeting with the school district administrators, but would not reveal those ideas until they are presented to the council. That discussion is on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting.
