Unofficial vote totals show Sean Connell wins council vacancy in special election

Sean Connell has the unofficial vote totals to win the special election for the at-large Clinton City Council vacancy. He was appointed to fill the spot-but a petition forced the special election.
Elections Commissioner Eric Van Lancker reported it would have taken 721 votes with 1,439 votes cast (updated from earlier version) for the four candidates.
Connell received 961 in the unofficial tally.

The elections commissioner reported voter turnout was 8 percent.

The votes will be canvassed on Thursday.
