Clinton Police are investigating two incidents that may be connected.

One case involves a man jumping from the Highway 30 Bridge and the second involves injuries to a woman who reportedly had a relationship with the man jumping from the bridge.

Clinton Police report the first incident occurred shortly after noon with a report or a man jumping off the Highway 30 Bridge into the Mississippi.  Police and Fire Department units responded to the scene.  The 33 year old man was located and removed from the river and transported to the Mercy Hospital for treatment.

The second incident was reported about one o’clock when Police and Fire Department units responded to a 911 call of a female in the back yard of 713 4th Avenue South who was bleeding.  Emergency crews found a 36 year female suffering from multiple cuts.  She was transported to the Mercy Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Police report that preliminary information indicates to the two people have a domestic relationship.’

The cases remain under investigation by the Clinton Police Department. Anyone with information about either of the incidents is encouraged to call the Police Department at 563-243-1458.
