Normal weather last month

May weather was ‘normal’ according to Clinton area official weather observer.

Jim Blaess says the overall temperature averaged just over 62 degrees (62.4) and that was about the historical average for the month (62.5).

The highest temperature was 87 on May 24th while the lowest was a 36 degree reading on the 15th.

Precipitation recorded by the weather observer was 3.49 inches.  Blaess says about a half an inch below the normal of 3.94 inches.

The March, April and May period is meteorological spring and Blaess says over that three month period the overall temperature was about six degrees above normal and the precipitation was 10.74 of an inch which was about one and half inches above normal (9.23 inches) for the spring three  month period.

For this month, Blaess says you can expect about 4.6 inches of rain.  The average high on June 1st is 78 and the average low is 56 and those rise to 85 and 64 by the end of June.  Blaess says you can also expect 4 days with temperatures of 90 or above.
