Local Unemployment Rates Rise

With an increasing number of people in the workforce and a higher number considered unemployed the unemployment rate in Clinton and Clinton County rose from May to June.

The latest report from the Iowa Workforce Development Agency shows that the June 2016 unemployment rate in Clinton County was 5.6 percent.  That’s jump from 4.9 percent in May.

The report shows an increase in the workforce and those considered unemployed while those employed remained stable.

Similar statistics were also shown for the city of Clinton.  With that the unemployment rate increase rose from 4.9 percent in May to 6.1 percent in June.
