Unemployment Rate in the county goes up while rate in Clinton drops

The latest unemployment statistics show a mixed update for Clinton and Clinton County. (links included to details)

The latest report from the Iowa Workforce Development Agency shows the unemployment rate in Clinton County rose from 5.6 percent in June to 5.7 percent for July.

The numbers show a slight increase in the workforce with a slight increase in those consider employed and an increase in those considered unemployed.

In the Clinton the unemployment rate went down from six percent in June to 5.8 percent in July.

Within the statistics there is a decrease in the workforce matched by a decrease in those considered unemployed and an increase in those considered employed to drop the rate.
