The Clinton City Council is meeting on Tuesday evening.

During the business portion of the meeting the council will consider further action to ban heavy truck traffic on the 19th Avenue North Extension through the Tech Park to Main Avenue. The ordinance change has been approved at one reading and the council will consider the second reading at the meeting and consider a final reading.

The council will also consider formal approval of the plan for bike lanes in the middle of 5th Avenue South.  The plan was approved at the committee of the whole session.

The council will consider a resolution to approve the contractual increase in City Administrator Jessica Kinser’s salary.  That resolution would approve a 2-and-a-quarter percent increase in salary to just over 115-thousand dollars.  The council will then consider a closed session to consider the employment agreement with the city administrator and with possible action to amend that agreement in open session.

During the Committee Of The Whole session the council will reconsider a variance to allow for the removal of a sidewalk along 6th Avenue North when the new law center and jail is constructed.  County officials have asked for the variance.  At last week’s meeting the vote was tied 3 to 3 on the issue which meant it’s automatically moved to the next meeting.
