Planned special meeting of the Clinton City Council has been cancelled

The special meeting Tuesday morning of the Clinton City Council discuss changes in the employment agreement of City Administrator Jessica Kinser has been cancelled. The cancellation came at her request late this morning.

Clinton Mayor Mark Vulich issued the special meeting notice Friday afternoon for Tuesday morning. The purpose is to take up the issue of changes to the employment agreement with the City Administrator.

The item was on the agenda for the meeting last week-but with one council member absent the motion for a closed session required a unanimous vote of the six members in attendance.  At that time, council member Lynn McGraw voted no on the closed session commenting she believed all seven council members should be present for the meeting.

Clinton City legal counsel Patrick O’Connell told KROS NEWS this morning City Administrator Jessica Kinser had withdrawn a request for a closed session – meaning the discussion on the changes could be held in open session.

However- – again- the meeting Tuesday morning has been cancelled at her request.

The open meetings law requires both sides – the city AND the person involved have to request the closed session.

Any proposed changes in the employment agreement have not been released.
