Clinton City Administrator Jessica Kinser to take new job

Clinton City Administrator Jessica Kinser is set to take the job as the Marshalltown , Iowa City Administrator.The action to hire Kinser is on the Marshalltown City Council agenda for a meeting on Monday. ‘Read more’ for a comment from Kinser about taking the new job.

KROS NEWS contacted Kinser and in an email she stated – quote –

It was a bittersweet decision to decide to move on from Clinton.  I have been able to experience and work on so many different things here and could not have gotten another position of this level without my experiences in Clinton.  I will miss the many friends and relationships I have developed and hope that I have left Clinton in better condition than I found it.

According to Marshalltown media reports the former Marshalltown City Administrator Randy Wetmore resigned in July, after accepting the city manager position in Statesboro, Georgia.  He had served for six years in the central Iowa community.

In October, 2011,Kinser was hired as Finance Director for the City of Clinton. She served in that position through June, 2013. From January through June, 2013, she also served as Interim City Administrator after the resignation of Jeff Horne. Since June, 2013, she has been City Administrator for the City.

At a closed session earlier in September the Clinton Cityh Council conducted a performance review of the City Administrator’s work.

At a meeting September 13th  the contractual pay increase of 2-and-a-quarter percent was approved the council. That raise was about 2-thousand*531 dollars to a salary of about 115-thousand dollars.
