Tentative schedule of governmental meetings this week

The Clinton County Board and Clinton School Board plus Clinton City Council highlight the tentative schedule of governmental meetings this week.

The Clinton County Board has their regular Monday session. The Supervisors meet at 9:15 at the County Administration Building.

The County Board will also be meeting Tuesday morning in a special session.  That meeting is at 10:30 and is for the opening bids on a 22-million dollar bond issue for the new jail and law center.

There will also be a session at 3 on  Tuesday for the purpose of directing the sale of the bonds.

There will also be a public hearing on a proposal to sell the Clinton County Farm at 3:30 on Tuesday.

The Clinton School Board has a Committee Of The Whole Session on Monday.

The board will hear about the districts ‘English As A Second Language’ program and the High School International Club.

The meeting is at 5:30 at the Clinton School’s Administrative Building.

The Camanche School Board has meeting today (Monday) for a proposal to refinance a bond issue to obtain a lower interest rate.  That meeting is at noon.

On Tuesday the Camanche School Board will hold a goal setting workshop.  That meeting is a 5:30 at the Camanche School Administrative Center.

The Clinton City Council meets on Tuesday.

During the business meeting the council will consider formal approval of a development agreement with the developer’s of the 4th Avenue Lofts apartment complex.  The council will also consider final approval of some changes in the way the city records abandoned buildings.

The council also meets in a Committee Of The Whole Session.

They will hear from the consultant hired to help lead the search for a new city administrator.  Dick Schrad will also be serving as the interim city administrator during the search process.  Jessica Kinser is leaving the Clinton City Administrator’s position to take the Administrator job in Marshalltown. Schrad will outline for the council the types of traits he’s learned the council and staff want in a new administrator based on meetings locally last week.
