Adjustments for parking at the Clinton County Courthouse start Monday (Jan. 28th)

Clinton County Justice Coordinating Commission (CCJCC) and the Law Center Project Team announce important changes with the replacement Clinton County Jail/Sheriff’s Office/911 Emergency Communications Center & Emergency Management Agency/Emergency Operations Center. 

Changes will involve parking, shuttle bus, facility entrances and include:  ‘read more for compete statement

  • Upcoming modifications consist of sidewalk and parking lot additions, ground work and razing of the Boiler House.
  • Parking changes include off-site parking to begin November 28th, available at the City of Clinton municipal lot near Ashford University Field (LumberKings Stadium), east of the railroad tracks on 6th Avenue North. *Visitors and employees with valid handicapped permits will be provided designated parking on the Courthouse site.
  • The Clinton County Shuttle (a black/grey 14 passenger bus) will transport staff and the public conducting business at the Courthouse or Law Center to/from the parking lot and County buildings. *Please allow extra time for parking in the municipal lot, shuttling and Court House security monitoring.
  • The shuttle bus will begin operation on November 28th Hours of service for the shuttle bus will be 6:30 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
  • Entrances to BOTH the existing Law Center and the Clinton County Courthouse will be relocated. The new Courthouse entry point will be on the East side (the North Second Street door).  The Law Center entrance will be moved to the East side.
  • Work on the new Law Center project can be followed in real time by viewing the video recording of the site. Visit clintoncounty-ia.gov for project information: “Law Center Project” and “Departments/CCJCC” to track progress.
  • Patience will be appreciated during construction, realizing inconveniences are to be anticipated. The replacement facility will meet the long term needs of Clinton County and increase efficiencies to better serve the community well for decades in the future. The Project Team extends thanks to citizens and staff members for support and engagement with the project and, again, for being patient with the process.
