Final contract approved with new Clinton City Administrator

In a meeting that lasted a few minutes the Clinton County approved the contract with Mathew Brooke as the new City Administrator.  He will start on the job on January 3rd at an annual salary of $140,000.

Brooke was the choice after an interview process on Saturday with the five finalists.  A tentative contract negotiated over the weekend was amended slightly in some minor benefit changes by the council at a meeting on Tuesday.  That required the deal be sent back to Brooke and to today’s (Thursday) special meeting.

Also at the meeting the council approved a chance in the contract for Interim City Administrator Dick Schrad.  He is a member of the firm hired to conduct the search and has been filling in as the city administrator.  He will remain as a Deputy City Administrator for a transition period with the new City Administrator.

All contracts were approved 6 to 0 with Cody Seeley not able to attend the meeting and Sean Connell attended via phone.

Jessica Kinser left the Clinton City Administrator post to take a similar job in Marshalltown, Iowa.
