Clinton City Assessor resigns

Clinton City Assessor John Moreland has submitted his resignation letter to the Conference Board.  That resignation is effective November 30 – 2017.

 

Moreland stated he wanted to give the conference board ample time select a successor.

He said that while the work has been rewarding he believes it is time to move on leave the work to others.

 

Moreland wrote that appreciated the opportunity to serve the citizens of Clinton for nearly four decades.

 

Moreland, in the letter, stated he was aware of the discussion about consolidating the City Assessor’s office with the County Assessor’s Office.

Be believes the city gains advantages from having its own office to assess the highly diverse municipal properties.  Moreland wrote that he would leave it to others the responsibility of deciding the issue of consolidation of the offices.
