Could we set record highs over the next few days

Clinton area weather observer Jim Blaess says normal high temperature for mid-February is about 37 degrees.  Temperatures are predicted to be in the 50’s & 60’s through the weekend.

Blaess reports Friday the 17th – he says the record high is 63 set in 1981 and then the record high for Saturday the 18th is 61 set in 1931 and tied in 1981.  On Sunday the record high is 68 set in 1930 and on Monday the record is 64 set in 1983.

Blaess says the last time there was a record in February was 2009.

The Clinton area weather observer says that last year the month was about four degrees above normal.  Blaess says thru the middle of the month this year the month of February is averaging slightly more than 4 degrees about the average.  Blaess says the overall average for February is just over 26 degrees and this month, thru Wednesday is averaging about 31 degrees.
