Ten finalists have been named for the title of “Iowa’s Best Burger.”

This marks the fifth year for the contest run by the Iowa Beef Industry Council and the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association. This year, Iowans submitted more than 9,600 nominations naming 456 restaurants. See the finalists and more details-click ‘more’

The 10 finalists, which received the most nominations are (in alphabetical order):
Ankeny Diner, Ankeny
Big City Burgers & Greens, Des Moines
Brick City Grill, Ames
Elm’s Club, Creston
Ferg’s My Tighe’s, Grand Junction
First Street Grille, Keosauqua
Ride’s Bar & Grill, Fort Dodge
Sam’s Sodas and Sandwiches, Carroll
The Ritz, Arnold’s Park
Zombie Burger, Des Moines
All of the restaurants will now be visited by judges, who will select the 2014 winner of Iowa’s Best Burger.

Last year’s winner of the contest was 61 Chop House Grille in Mediapolis. Previous winners were Coon Bowl III in Coon Rapids (2012), Rusty Duck in Dexter (2011), and Sac County Cattle Company of Sac City (2010).
