The tentative meeting schedule for governmental bodies this week

City legal counsel interviews, council committees to consider changes in calendar parking & sewer main route plus the Camanche City Council meets are among the sessions

The Clinton County Board has adjusted their usual Monday morning meeting time.  The work will now start at 9 A-M for the board to review correspondence and claims and the business portion of the agenda will start at 9:15.  Among the resolutions for the Monday meeting are a couple of items regarding emergency action plans for the courthouse and administration building

Tuesday will be a full day for the Clinton City council.

Interviews with the three legal firms that applied to be the city’s legal counsel are to be held on Tuesday.

There are three responses to the Clinton City Council’s request to outsource the city’s legal representation.  The council chose to hire an outside legal counsel instead of a staff attorney after the resignation of Jeff Farwell late last year.

The firms responding included the current interim acting legal counsel – Frey,  Haufe and Current firm of Clinton plus the Lynch Dallas firm and the Gruhn Law Firm.  Interviews are scheduled for 10 and 11 o’clock and at 1 P-M.

Also on Tuesday the council’s Rules and Regulations Committee is to meet at 9’clock.  On their agenda is a discussion about adjusting the hours of calendar parking and adding some streets to the snow emergency routes.

The City Services Committee will be held on Tuesday, April 1 at 3:00 p.m., not at 2:00 p.m. as originally scheduled.  On their agenda are the proposals for alternatives for a force main for the 20th Avenue North pumping station. One proposal would use a Pershing Boulevard, but that route requires removal of 37 trees along the street.  A second option would follow Roosevelt Street, but that would close a portion of the street for a couple of months.

The Camanche City Council meets on Tuesday-April 1st in a business meeting.  Washington Boulevard is one of the topics on the agenda.  The council will get an update on the cracks on the newly renovated street and consider a final payment to the contractor.

The Camanche Council will also consider the floor plan for the new city to be located in the former Camanche Pharmacy Building plus a proposed local bidder preference for the renovation project.

The meeting is at 6 P-M at city hall.

On Wednesday the Clinton School Board has a special meeting.  The board will meet with financial analysts about financing for the new middle school.

After a snag in final contract negotiations with a new Superintendent, the Riverbend School Board has planned a series of interviews with candidates for the job.

The board of the Fulton, Illinois based district has announced the hiring a new Superintendent a few weeks, but after that announcement there were apparently issues in some final contract language.’

The board has interview sessions planned next week on March 31st, April 1st and 2nd with follow-up interview April 7th, 8th and 9th,
