Rainfall so far this month is already above average for the month

The storm on Thursday dumped just under three inches of rain in the area.  Clinton area official weather observer Jim Blaess says the official total is 2.86 inches.

He says combined with about half-an inch on Tuesday and a small amount of rain on Wednesday this week’s total precipitation is 3.43 inches

Blaess says that so far this month – through Thursday – there has been 4.78 inches of rain and that’s slightly higher than the monthly average of about 4.37 inches of rain.

For the year-to-date, through Thursday,the Clinton area has received 15.41 inches of precipitation and that’s less than an inch below normal (16.27) through the end of June.
