Shooting investigation

Clinton Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the downtown area early this morning.
Police were dispatched to 133 and a half 5th Avenue South in reference to someone being shot. When officers arrived they located 32 year old Daniel Mitchell inside the apartment. He was transported to the Mercy Medical Center for treatment and then transferred to Genesis East Hospital in the Quad Cities.

A media release from the Police Department states that according to Mitchell, the suspects, whom he could only describe as three black males fled the building after he was shot. At this time, police say there have been no arrests.

The case remains under investigation by the Clinton Police Department.
