New use for the vacant school district’s Roosevelt property.

There could be a new use for the Clinton School District’s Roosevelt Administration Center at 600 South 4th Street.
The district moved out of the building to the new Administrative Center at the former Harding School Building

A special school board meeting has been set for Wednesday to consider moving ahead with a proposal to sell the now vacant Roosevelt property.

The Community Housing Initiatives Company will present a proposal for purchasing the building. The board will be asked to set a public hearing at the August 11th meeting on the agreement.
That resolution states C-H-I is offering 5-thousand dollars for the property to use it as a community revitalization project.

C-H-I has been involved in renovating several other older buildings in downtown Clinton into housing including the Van Allen, the Howes Building and the Armstrong Building. The firm was also involved in building the West Heights Townhomes at the corner of 11th Street Northwest and 14th Avenue Northwest

Also at the special meeting the board will consider an offer to sell the C-H-S Building Trades constructed home.

The meeting is at 4:30 Wednesday at the Administration Center.
