Meetings this week

Despite the holiday on Monday there are several governmental bodies meeting this week including the Clinton, Camanche & Fulton City Councils

With the Labor Day Holiday on Monday most governmental operations at the federal, state and local level will be closed.
That includes Clinton City and the Clinton County Courthouse and Administration Building.

In Clinton – due to the Labor Day holiday, solid waste/recycling collection will be delayed.
Monday and Tuesday’s route will be collected on Tuesday, September 2nd and the rest of the week will be collected on the regularly scheduled day: Wednesday on Wednesday, Thursday on Thursday and Friday on Friday.
The Clinton County landfill will also be closed on Monday and will re-open on Tuesday for regular hours.
Camanche garbage pickup will also be delayed a day.

With the Monday holiday the Clinton County Board will be meeting on Tuesday morning. The meeting will start at 9 A-M with the review of correspondence and bills and the business meeting will begin at 9:30.

The first Tuesday of the month will be the Clinton City Council Committee Of The Whole meeting.
At the September 2nd meeting the council will consider hiring a firm to develop a new city website and updates to the building code. Also on the agenda is a presentation of the ‘jail needs study with a component for a new city police station included in the plans.
The meeting is at 7 P-M on Tuesday.

The Camanche City Council meets on Tuesday with the issue of the new city hall the center of a couple of items on the agenda. Last year the city purchased the old pharmacy business building to renovate for a new city hall. But after the election of some new council members the remodeling plans have been rejected but no other action taken. The issue of the remodeling bids is on the agenda again for consideration. Also on the agenda is a proposal to sell the existing City Hall property.
The meeting will be at 6 P-M on September 2nd.

The Fulton City Council meets on Tuesday evening at 5:30. The council will consider a resolution of support for a business looking to open a cannabis dispensary in Fulton. That same company has also proposed building a medical cannabis growing centers in Fulton.

The Central School Board will be meeting on Wednesday this week. The session will begin at 6 P-M at the High School Media Center. This is the annual meeting of the board and new officers will be elected.

===                                                                                                                                                                                        Beginning this week the Clinton Recreation Department will switch fall hours at the Ericksen Center. The Administrative Office will be open Monday thru Thursday from 8 in the morning till 6 in the evening and on Friday’s from 8 to 5.
The lower level activity area will be open from 9 A-M to 7 P-M for drop in recreation. The job and walk will 5 A-M to 9 A-M Monday thru Friday while scheduled drop-in recreation is 4 P-M to 5:30 P-M. The Universal Fitness area will be open Monday thru Friday 5 A-M to 7 P-M.
