CMS Dress Code modified after complaints (link to new rules included)

A new modified dress code is being implement at the Clinton Middle School The issue surfaced in recent weeks as parents took their complaints to the school board and the Parent-Teacher-Student Association.

Most of the complaints were focused on the girls being told their clothing did not meet the guidelines when parents believed the actions were too restrictive the items such as the length of shorts.

After an input meeting a couple of weeks ago the comments were reviewed by the staff, students and administration.
Middle School Principal Dan Boyd introduced the new policy at the P-T-S-A meeting.
Boyd said the stakeholders believed it reflected the input and there will be meetings with the staff to insure consistency in implementation. Boyd said meetings with the staff would be held today (Wednesday).

Some at the meeting were still not happy with the new policy, but other believed it was an improvement and others commented that students must learn to follow guidelines to be successful in the work place.
