Clinton County Emergency Management Agency issues statement on rural roads

Dangerous Road Conditions in Clinton County 02-01-2015 The Clinton County Sheriff, Clinton County Engineer, and Clinton County Emergency Management, in cooperation with the Iowa DOT, are issuing the following joint statement effective February 1, 2015.

The County Secondary Roads Department reports blowing and drifting snow will continue to make non-paved roads impassable. Crews will be working early on Monday to open roads, but some rural roads may not be opened until Tuesday. According to the DOT, Highway 136 is impassable between Highways 67 and 61. DOT Crews are unable to access Highway 136 until conditions improve. Due to drifting, visibility is very low and roads are drifting over. Drifts may also conceal stranded vehicles in the middle of the roadway. Please, do not travel until conditions improve. Emergency responders may not be able to reach stranded motorists this evening.
