Tentative schedule of governmental meetings this week

Area School Boards and city councils to meet this week.

The Riverbend School Board will meet in a special session on Monday-March 16th.
The session is for the district to present the strategic plan for the district to the public.
The meeting will be at the Fulton High School at 6:30.
The regular board meeting for the Fulton based district has been changed from the 16th to March 23rd.
With that change the Finance Committee and Citizen Advisory Committee will meet on the 23rd.

The Camanche School Board meets on Monday in a regular session. The board will review a budget proposal and consider approval of a school calendar for the 2015-2016 school year.

The Fulton City Council meets Monday evening.
The council will consider two proposals for senior housing in the community. One proposal is from Bear Development of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Their plan is to use the old J-T Cullen site. The second developer is Pioneer Property Management and they want to develop the area including the boat repair facility surrounding land including the two ball fields in Kiwanis Park. Each developer is seeking the city’s approval, willingness to rezone the properties and negotiating the sale of the land.

You may see the clock on the Clinton County Courthouse working later this year.
At their meeting on Tuesday the Clinton County Board will consider approval of proposal for a company to repair the clock that has not work for several months.
County Maintenance Manager Corey Johnson told the Supervisors at a recent meeting there were three bids for repair of the clock.
Tower Clock Works of Ohio bid 51-thousand dollars while Smith’s Bell and Clock of Indiana bid about 18-thousand*600 dollars and Mechanical Watch of Minnesota bid about 19-thousand*600 dollars.
Johnson said those bids were to repair the inner workings of the clock and the outside arms on the face of the clock.
The resolution would award the work the Smith’s Bell and Clock Company.
Part of the work will insure the bell works and a determination will be made later when to have the bell chime.
The resolution to award the contract is on the County Board’s agenda for consideration at their Tuesday meeting.
The meeting will start at 9:15 Tuesday morning at the County Administration Building.
