How much snow did we get

Today’s precipitation is the first precipitation since March 3rd.Clinton area official weather observer Jim Blaess says the snowfall today is 1.1 inches. That translated into just under three-tenths of an inch of precipitation overnight and this morning.

He says there was .37 of an inch of precipitation that included an inch of snow on the 3rd. There was another one-hundredth of an inch of precipitation on March 1st that included two-tenths of an inch of snow.

Blaess said total precipitation so far in March .67 of an inche. The normal precipitation for March is 2.24 inches  inches.

The snowfall for the month is now 2.3 inches and that is below the average of 3.1inches.

Last year on March 24th – Blaess pointed out there was six-tenths of an inch of snow.

The precipitation so far this year, according to Blaess is 3.27 inches and that’s about two inches below the average through the month of march.

The snow this month has now put the October through March snow season total at about 34 inches and that’s about four inches above the total for the snow season.
