*A motorcycle operator was killed in a collision with a car in Clinton*the identity of the victim has now been released

The Clinton Police Department was called to the 1100 block of South 14th Street about 5 o’clock Wednesday on the call of the car-motorcycle collision with injuries.  Updated information included (12:41pm)

The driver the car and the operator of the motorcycle were transported to the Mercy Hospital.
Officers spoke with witnesses and documented the scene. Investigators determined the motorcycle was traveling south in the outside lane while the car exited a business drive and the motorcycle hit the driver’s side rear door.

The motorcycle operator was was pronounced dead at the hospital. The motorcycle operator has been identified at 36 year Justin Coe Kane of 2233 12th Avenue South.

The driver of the car involved in the crash has been identified at 70 yearl Diane Frances Soesbe of 416 Sixth Avenue South.

The investigation is ongoing by the Clinton Police Department’s Traffic Crash Investigation Division.
