The Clinton County Board, Clinton School & Clinton City Council meet this week. “Read more for details and links to the agendas. The Clinton County Board has a regular meeting on Monday. The business session starts at 9:15 at the County Administration Building.
At 9:30 the Supervisors will have an update on the courts from District Court Chief Judge Marlita Greve and Administrator Kathy Gaylord. At 9:50 the board will consider a letter of support for proposed psychiatric hospital.

Monday evening is the regular meeting of the Clinton School Board. They will meet at 5:30 at the School’s Administrative Center.
Among the items under consideration is a contract with the firm “Thoughtexchange” to assist the district in gathering public input and engagement with the community.

The Clinton City Council meets on Tuesday night in a business and a discussion session. During the business meeting the council will consider the next steps to be able to shut off water service for unpaid city sewer bills. The arrangements must be made with the private water company. The council will also consider the formal resolution to appoint Kevin Gyrion as the new Police Chief. The starting salary would be about 91-thousand*500 dollars.
City Administrator Jessica Kinser has selected Kevin Gyrion as the new Chief. He’s been the Police Chief in West Liberty, Iowa, He left the Chicago, Illinois Police Department after 28 years of service to take the West Liberty job.

Also on the agenda is a proposed three year contract with the Police Department bargaining unit.
On the Committee Of The Whole Agenda the council will consider moving forward with officially renaming Pool 13 of the Mississippi as Lake Clinton. The council will also hear an update on the National Geographic Magazine ‘branding of the Mississippi River.
The council meeting will convene at 7 o’clock Tuesday evening.
