REDEDICATION CEREMONY SCHEDULED FOR CLINTON READINESS CENTER

The Iowa National Guard will host a rededication ceremony commemorating the completed renovation of the Clinton Readiness Center, 1200 13th Ave. N., Clinton, Iowa, on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. ‘Read more’ from the official statement from the National Guard about the event

Iowa National Guard leadership and representatives from federal, state, and local governments will participate in the ceremony. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend the rededication ceremony.

The Clinton Readiness Center was originally constructed in 1986 by Schemmer Associates, with 19,155 square feet of space at a cost of $1.15 million.

The latest $1.9 million renovation project began in Fall 2014 and provides for administrative and recruiting office space, classrooms, unit supply and storage areas, and a fitness room. The work also included new windows and doors, upgraded kitchen equipment, plumbing, and electrical upgrades to meet current energy efficiency requirements. Site work included a new perimeter fence, sidewalks and an equipment load-out area.

The project was designed by Straka Johnson Architects of Dubuque, Iowa and the general contractor was Portzen Construction, Dubuque, Iowa. The Clinton Readiness Center is home to Detachment 1, Company A, 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry.
