Meeting this week

A preliminary schedule of meetings this week show a number of Clinton City Council Committees meeting-check out the week’s tentative schedule.

The Clinton County Board has their regular Monday meeting.  The session will start at 9:15 at the County Administration Building

A new member of the Clinton Police Department will be sworn in Monday afternoon.  Andrew Petersen of Grand Mound has been hired to fill a vacancy created when probationary officer Brian Winkel resigned in August. Petersen will be sworn in at a ceremony at 1:15 at City Hall.                                                      He will then attend the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy Training School starting in January and then start a local field training program in April.

A public open house style meeting on the city’s Capital Improvement Plan is scheduled for Monday.  The public can stop at the Ericksen Center between 5 and 6:30 pm to provide input and have their questions answered about the plan developed for priority projects through 2020.

Several Clinton City Council committees and other commissions will be meeting this week.

 

The council’s Rules and Regulations Committee will be meeting on Tuesday at 9:30 A-M.  The panel will be discussing several issues related to allowing underage persons in local bars.

 

The council’s City Services Committee will be meeting on Wednesday afternoon at one o’clock.  The only item on the agenda concerns city surplus vehicles.

 

The council’s Internal Operations Committee will meet Wednesday afternoon at 1:15 to receive a one year update from Safety Director Jeff Chapman.

 

The Clinton City Plan Commission also has a meeting set for this week. On Thursday afternoon at        4 o’clock the commission will review the proposed comprehensive plan.

The Fulton, Illinois City Council meets on Monday.  The session will be at 5:30 at city hall. A safety zone ordinance is one of the issues on the agenda for the council to consider.

The Camanche City Council will be meeting this week – on Tuesday evening at 6 o’clock. Among the items on the agenda is a discussion on plans for the remodeling the former Camanche pharmacy building the city is buying for a new city hall.
