Thursday’s high temperature was 93 degrees.
Clinton Area Official Weather Observer Jim Blaess says there were four days in June at 90 or above but yesterday was the first day in July with temperature in the 90’s.
He says the last 93 degree reading was July 17 – 2015.
Blaess says it’s unofficial but the heat index – or what it feels like – at mid-afternoon yesterday was calculated to be 116 degrees.
Blaess says the overnight rain was seven-tenths of an inch. That brought the month’s total precipitation to four-point-22 inches. The weather observer says that is just above the normal rainfall in July of 3.6 inches.
