Testing determines air quality is safe at Bluff Elementary after mold discovered in isolated area of the building

Clinton School officials report that when classes resume tomorrow (Tuesday) students, parents and others have been assured that the air quality will be safe after a mold scare last week.

That mold was discovered in the walls of the library area of the building due to water seepage through the wall due the recent rains.

In a note sent home with students on Friday-and provided to the local media – school officials said air quality testing showed little evidence of the type of mold found on the walls and it was safe for anyone to be present.

Contractors have removed the affected sheet rock and removed additional sheet rock in adjacent areas.  Those areas will be repaired once the water seepage issue in the wall is repaired.

On Tuesday, the district will be relocating one of the Bluff computer labs so the start of the year testing is not interrupted.
