The Clinton City Council meets in a Committee Of The Whole session on Tuesday.

Among the items for discussion is the idea of adding more police officers to the force.  The city did not gain a federal grant that would help fund more officers.  In a memo to the council, City Administrator Jessica Kinser stated the police personnel cost is funded through the general fund.  There would be a one time alternative to use the contingency fund to add one officer.

But, Kinser noted the A-D-M appeal of the valuation of their property and the impact that could have on the city’s general fund.  She recommended the discussion about adding any employee wait until that issue is resolved.

The meeting is at 7 o’clock Tuesday evening at city hall.

The Camanche City Council is meeting Tuesday evening. The council will consider a closed session to discuss the employment agreement with a city administrator and then could take action on that agreement.

Earlier  –  Camanche Mayor Trevor Willis told KROS NEWS  the city did offer the job to Andrew Kida from Ashton, Illinois. Willis says the city legal counsel, John Frey, is handing the discussion on an employment agreement.

Tom Roth, who had been the Camanche City Administrator retired last month.  Roth’s services are being used on a consulting basis until the transition is complete.
