The vacancy was created with the resignation of At-Large council member Tom Determann who was elected to the County Board. The seat is ‘up’ for election in November in the regular cycle.
The follow up interview session will be Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock preceding the budget session.
City leaders also pointed out that if there would be tie vote at that time that it could force a special election due to the mandated timing of filling the vacancy and city rules on handling tie votes.
