The Tuesday overnight and Wednesday morning snowfall totaled 4.5 inches according to Clinton area official weather observer Jim Blaess.
He says that brings the total for the month-to-date to 13.7 inches. Blaess says that compares to the normal January snowfall average of 9.4 inches.
The weather observer added that comparing the last three January snowfalls – there was 1.4 inches in 2016 and 8-tenths of an inch in 2017 and 1.5 inches in 2018 for a total of 3.7 inches in the last three years combined.
For the snow season to date of October through Wednesday – Blaess says there’s been 29.4 inches of snow compared to 19.9 on average for the October thru January period.
