Clinton County Monthly Outdoor Warning System Test Cancelled for March

Only a few of the outdoor warning sirens around Clinton County will be tested Tuesday due to the extreme cold temperatures.

Clinton County Emergency Management Coordinator Chance Kness said only the sirens owned by Exelon that cover the Cities of Clinton, Camanche and Low Moor will be briefly sounded at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The sirens are traditionally tested the first Tuesday of each month.

Kness explained the sirens are designed to operate in all weather conditions, but the decision was made to cancel the test to limit the risk of damage to the equipment.

Kness said the traditional siren testing will resume on the first Tuesday in April.
