33rd Annual Plus 50 Living Fair
KROS Radio, 105.9 FM & 1340 AM and Mercy One Medical Center in Clinton will sponsor the 33rd Annual Plus 50 Living Fair on Tuesday, April 22nd from 8 am – 12:00 pm at the Vista Grande, 2141 16th St. NW, in Clinton, IA. The purpose of this fair is to bring businesses and organizations together in one convenient location to provide information, demonstrations and fun for the area’s 50-plus population. Each booth will offer door prizes to be given away. WQAD TV 8’s Andrew Stutzke, the Senior/Morning Meteorologist for Good Morning Quad Cities will be our special guest. Meet him and have ready any weather related questions for him to answer.
There will be over 20 different businesses and services on hand to discuss their operations with attendees. Businesses signed up for the event range from financial services, retirement residences, realtors, to home builders and more. KROS Account Executive, Gary Determan, said, “The type and variety of businesses varies each year which means that if you’ve been here before, you should come back and learn more.”
Special health screening opportunities will be offered by Mercy during the Plus 50 Living Fair. These are screening tests only and not designed to take the place of an exam with your physician. The screening tests offered include:
LIPID PANEL $15 — Triglycerides, Cholesterol (LDL and HDL) GLUCOSE $10 — measure of sugar in your blood
HGBAIC $25 — is a screening test to monitoi glucose (blood sugar) over time.
VITAMIN B12 $15 — part of the B complex of vitamins which are necessary for ied blood cell and white blood cell formation, repair of tissues and cells and synthesis of DNA
VlTAIvlIN D 25(OH) $30 — helps with the growth and health of bone.
CBC $10 —a series of sevei al tests used to determine the number and type of blood cells.
CHEM PANEL (CMP) $30 – Compi ehensive Metabolic Panel
PSA $25 Prostate-specific antigen (PSA); a blood test used to scieen for prostate cahcer.
TSH $25 — Thyroid Stimulating Hormone — measures the amount of thyroid stimulating hormone in the blood and indicate thyroid response.
These will be offered at a nominal cost. For accurate results please fast for eight to ten hours. Participants will also have the option of learning their blood pressure at no cost.
In addition, representatives will be on hand from a variety of Mercy One health services including Varicose Vein screening, Wound Care, Orthopedics, Home Care & Hospice, Home Medical Equipment and Specialty Clinic.

105.9 FM & 1340 AM, KROS Radio, will broadcast from the fair throughout the day with special information on health, nutrition, products and services available to the 50 plus population.
