June was below normal for the overall temperature and precipitation

Clinton official weather observer Jim Blaess says the overall temperature of 69.4 degrees.  The overall temperature was below the normal of 71.3 degrees.

It was the coolest for the month since 2004 when it was 69.3.

The highest reading was 89 on June 29th and the low was 50 on the 13th.

Blaess says there were no days with 90 degrees or above. The weather observer says that is the 12th time since 1893 when there were no days with 90 or above.  He says the normal is 4 days of 90 or above in June.  In 2018 there were six days.

Blaess also notes there were 16 days in row – from June 10th through the 15th when the temperature was below the daily normal.

Blaess says there wasw 3.27 inches of precipitation in the month and that’s below the normal of 4.60 inches.

The weather observer says the year-to-date precipitation is still above normal. For the first six months of the year, Blaess has recorded 25.85 inches of precipitation while the normal is 16.91 inches.

For July, Blaess says there is an average of 3.6 inches of precipitation and six says with 90 degrees or higher.  Blaess says the average high on July 1st is 85 and the average low is 64 and those remain generally stable through the month to averages of 84 and 64 on July 31st.
